The Relations Committee of the ARCL Regional Executive puts great effort to introduce the volunteer and benevolent work and dedicatory aim of the ARCL to the public as well as supply proceeds to the REB.
For this purpose, on Saturday, February 13, 2016, the Relations Committee of the ARCL organized a Valentine’s Day gathering under the patronage of the ARCL REB at «Guest House» in Rabieh.
The event brought together the ARCL members and many supporters of the ARCL mission. The guests included Ms. Hranoush Hagopian - Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Ashod Kotcharian - Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mr. Vartkes Mahdessian - Armenian MP in the Cyprus Parliament, Ms. Nelly Vekilian - ARS Central Executive Board member, Mr. Antranig Meserlian - Mayor of Bourj Hammoud, and Ms. Seta Khedeshian, Chair of the Armenian Genocide Centennial Committee in Lebanon.
Hasmig Samuelian, the Relations Committee Chair, welcomed the guests and said that the aim of the gathering and such events in general is to be able to meet a wide range of needs including students, pupils, the elderly and the sick. She thanked all the donors and also those who contributed to the success of the event.
RA Minister of Diaspora Ms. Hranoush Hagopian praised the ARCL mission and appreciated the volunteer work of the ARCL sisters and their dedicated spirit. She highlighted the role Armenian women in the preservation of the native language, culture and traditions. She also stressed on the importance of maintaining the Armenia-Diaspora collaboration, and urged the attendees to consider returning to the homeland.
The cheerful music and the funny anecdotes of Keynote speaker of the event, Mr. Nejteh Meguerditchian, created a great atmosphere. Heartfelt donations were made. And everyone left in high spirit appreciating the efforts of the ARCL especially of the Relations Committee.
