Under the patronage of the ARCL Regional Executive (REB), and on the occasion of the Armenian Genocide Centennial, a pilgrimage was organized to Armenia by the Relations Committee of the ARCL REB from 22 till 27 April.
This was an opportunity to meet the motherland especially for those who were visiting Armenia for the first time.
During the five days of the pilgrimage, the pilgrims lived touching moments which surely will be remembered for a long time. They participated in the walk toward Dsidsernagapert where they paid respect to the Genocide martyrs and restated their vows to remember and remind, to demand and restate that Turkey had lost.
They also visited the military cemetery, Yeraplur, where they paid special respect to Sosse Mayrig. They also went to Karni, Keghart, Khor Virab, Echmiadzin Cathedral, Zvartnots, Noravank, and Sevan.
The participants also attended the dinner organized by ARS Armenia where many ARS members from all over the world had gathered. Here also tears were shed as many friends reunited from all over the world.
The pilgrimage was concluded by a friendly dinner on the evening of April 26. Present at the dinner were RA Diaspora Minister Hranoush Hagopian and ARS Central Executive chair Vicky Marashlian.
It is difficult to convey in words the emotions felt during the pilgrimage and at the moment of departure from the motherland. However, it is certain that the participants returned with determination and high spirit to continue the ARCL mission of helping the Lebanese Armenian community and to give a new breath of life that will always keep lit the flame of its promise to always remember and demand.
