On the 40th Anniversary of the ARCL Embroidery Center

In its 86 years of devoted work, the ARCL not only made every effort to meet the needs of those in need of medical and social aid, but also strived to preserve Armenian values and traditions particularly Armenian needlework and embroidery.

40 years ago, in 1976, the ARCL founded the Artisan Workshop with the aim of passing the Armenian needlework heritage from one generation to the next.

Despite the social, economic, and political crises in the country and the lack of human resources, the ARCL remained on the forefront of guarding Armenian values and became a great supporter of the Armenian culture.

Thanks to the ARCL REB’s vigilance and the persistent efforts of the ARCL Artisan Committee, the small Workshop grew into a respectable Center where Armenian women are able to acquire our cultural heritage.

The Embroidery Center became the home of Armenian needlework for the past 4 decades. Moreover, the Center became a source of income for the realization of the ARCL social and medical projects.

For the past 4 decades, the ARCL Artisan Committee has operated with the awareness of its obligation and responsibility to ensure the passage of our cultural heritage and traditions from Armenian grannies to their young grandchildren.

On this 40th anniversary of the Embroidery Center, the ARCL REB bows with respect in front of each Armenian woman who meticulously and deliberately stands by the Armenian cultural values. The REB also wishes the Embroidery Center another 40 years of accomplishments and vows to continue the journey with great commitment.
