Let us pass the legacy

Needlework has been a source of pride for Armenian woman for centuries. With this art form, she has expressed her inner feelings, emotions, and hopes. Regrettably, the fast pace of life nowadays in the pursuit of earning a living and thus the lack of time have diminished the number of women who engage in needlework. However, the love and affection of the Armenian woman toward art and her nature of appreciating beauty are still alive in her.

With the founding of the Embroidery Center, the ARCL has made a great contribution in introducing Armenian needlework to the new generation as well as foreigners. In turn, when we gift friends a piece of embroidery on any one occasion, we will be appreciating the ARCL’s mission and contributing to its purpose.

With the assistance of ARCL members, schools need to allocate special classes to teach the young generation at least the history of provincial needlework, the colors, patterns and techniques. This way we will have an influential input on the preservation of Armenianhood among the new generation.
