During the History of the Armenian Diaspora of Lebanon whether in the good days or the difficult days ARCL has barricaded and fulfilled its mission completely by reaching to the sea of necessities of the Lebanese Armenians. But this mission would have remained incomplete and unaccomplished, if the benefactors hadn’t supported to the treasury of ARCL with their selfless contributions. In this regard the ARCL Relations Committee, faithful to its longtime tradition, has organized its yearly banquet which took place on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. in Hilton Hotel’s “Labour’s Ballroom”. To the invitation of the banquet responded 265 benefactors, friends and members of ARCL. Narine Atapekian, wife of Vahakn Atapekian, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia, Nelly Vekilian the representative of the central committee of ARS, and the regional board of ARS were also present at the banquet.
After listening to the anthems of Lebanon, Armenia and ARS, the opening word of the Relations Committee in Armenian language was spoken by Hasmig Samuelian. She mentioned that this banquet which coincides with the International Women’s day has become a tradition, and a big number of friends believing in the mission and work of ARCL, respond and support this initiative. Hasmig Samuelian pointed to the financial difficulties faced in Lebanon, and the social, financial and educational difficulties of the Armenians in Lebanon and despite of the work accomplished, nevertheless, the needs are multiplying. However, ARCL faithful to its mission continues to support the Armenian student, the needy, the sick and the elderly. She said that the participation of the attendees is encouragement to their work, unified effort, and expression of the good deed of the Armenian individual as well as a kind stand. In the name of Relations Committee, Hasmig Samuelian thanked the attendees for not sparing any effort and contributing to the success of this initiative.
Then, in the name of the Relations Committee, the word in the Arabic language was read by Carol Terzian. She said that the purpose of this initiative is to support ARCL’s missions. From the day of its foundation ARCL remains as an example of service, and human values by reaching out to all wherever they are, without discrimination between genders and sects. Carol Terzian considered the financial and the moral aid of the attendees as support for the organization to widen the scope of it missions.
Then Hovik Karkhanian presented an artistic program playing the violin and captivating the hearts of the attendees with various musical pieces. After that Tsoler karjikian presented Armenian traditional folklore dance.
Following the artistic program, some financial contributions were done for philanthropic and educational purposes, then there was a lottery draw.
This initiative of the Relations Committee of ARCL was crowned with success. The attendees left the hall with hearts full of joy.
